"After I interviewed Ben for The Beat Magazine's cover story in the mid-80's, we became friends and we'd meet from time to time to go out socially and hang out. Ben liked my dislike for authority, my quick thinking, my music knowledge, and my sense of humor. I liked his quick wit, his great talent and his boy next door demeanor. He was just a really cool cat who left us way too soon. We both had young sons with very very blonde hair who would play together backstage from time to time whenever our paths crossed. Ben Jr. recently told me with a short laugh, that he lost his blondeness many moons ago, as did my own son. Ha."

"I knew Ben pretty well, spent a lot of time with him during the making of Shake It Up and The Lace. I miss Ben. What a dear soul."
